My Parents' SLC Visit
My parents came here on Wednesday (July 2nd) and stayed until this morning. This was their first time to Utah - and they have never seen my place here. I wanted to make it a good vacation for them.
In list form, this is what we did: (I love to make lists)1) Wednesday - I picked them at the airport and made them dinner at home. We ended up just hanging out at my apartment that night.2) Thursday - I still went to work and for lunch, I picked them up and brought them to American Express' cafeteria. heh After work, we went to an outdoor mall downtown, The Gateway. Walked around the mall and had dinner at Z Tejas. We drove around town and I took them to a spot overlooking the entire valley. It was pretty gorgeous. My parents really liked it.
3) Friday - 4th of July! I actually got to sleep in a bit (I really needed it!!). We went grocery shopping for some BBQ stuff. I was really excited to make some Filipino BBQ with my ma. I was definitely craving it. We got everything set up and started to marinade the meat.
Then headed out to Snowbird Ski Resort. I took my parents up in the mountains. =) Definitely a gorgeous drive. Up at Snowbird, we rode the Tram which took us to an elevation point of 11,000 feet above sea level. There was still snow up there at this time. Craziness. My parents really liked that. Then after, we just headed home to grill the BBQ. Had dinner and just chilled at home for the rest of the holiday. No fireworks. Heh
4) Saturday - this was the day I planned to be a nice relaxing and luxurious day for my parents. I scheduled a massage for the 3 of us at my favorite spa, Sego Lily, in the morning. It was my dad's first time getting a massage and he really enjoyed it. It was perfect to just relax in their meditation area before the massage and after. I really liked the tea flavors they had there. Yumm.
After our massage, we drove to some shopping areas. I bought some stuff I needed to make bracelets for my ma, my sister, and myself. I made us all the same bracelets =) Then we drove to the place where my ma got a haircut. Her haircut turned out really cute.We went home to relax after her haircut. I made dinner reservations at my favorite restaurant here in Salt Lake, Cucina Toscana. My parents really liked it. I love that place. The food is always really good. After dinner, I took them to the City Library, because it's so beautiful. Took pictures, of course.

Then I decided to drive them to Park City. This was their last night in Utah, I figured I'd get as much in as possible. We went to the Olympic Park and took pictures of the view there. I think my parents really enjoyed their whole vacation - which I'm really glad about =)
5) Sunday, today. I took them to the airport in the morning and now my apartment is so quiet. =( Back to reality of the work week ahead of me. =P I'm so sleepy. It was a great time hanging out with my parents.
