New Glasses & More Bracelets

I watched The Dark Knight last night with some friends at an IMAX theater. I really liked it. It made me miss Chicago, heh. I thought the movie was good. My friends & I ate at Chik-Fil-A before going to the movie. Yumm. It was my first time going to one in Utah. Good food. =) I brought my car in to get fixed on Monday, so throughout this week I'm car-less. I've been getting rides from my friends from work. Super nice! I think I'll have a little dinner gathering at my apartment to show my appreciation. Once I have my car back and I can buy everything I need for the dinner, etc etc...I'll get it all planned.

I got my new glasses a couple of days ago. I like 'em. I actually kind of forgot which ones I picked out. So, it was a cute surprise to see them, heh. I'm weird, I know. I always love getting new glasses. These are pretty funky. They're light green and brown on the sides. The green part has leaves etched on them. Very tropical, Tommy Bahama-esque. =) I like 'em. One day, I think I'll get the lasik surgery. Not anytime soon, but one day.. Though, it's pretty cute to wear glasses every now and then. heh

My apartment is a mess right now. Things have been so
busy at work lately and once I get home, I don't feel like doing anything. Except bracelet making. Hehe I made some more this past weekend. I sent out a bunch this past weekend too. I'm going to send one soon to my friend/former college roommate, Sarah. She just got engaged! =) So exciting!

Here are some bracelets I made this past weekend:

I really like the round beads, especially the jade-colored ones.

The second from the top is a bit bigger than any of the other bracelets I have made. It's been fun to just make a bunch in one sitting. It's like having a little manufacturing plant. I even decorate the envelope I send them in. Hah. It's all about presentation ; ) If I ever start a business, I would love to create a logo. So far, my brand name for my bracelets is Grace Designs. We'll see how long that sticks. It's fun to dream about my own small business.

It's so crazy that Wednesday is almost over already. The week is just flying. Actually, this whole year is going by soo quickly. I'm going to an art fair and symphony performance this weekend with some friends. I'm excited. It's at Park City and I really love that city. It's so pretty and refreshing there. I watched a movie there last Friday night. They just played a movie outside and you can lay out on the grass and enjoy the movie under the stars. It was soo nice. My friends & I brought some food and drinks ... the combination of perfect summer night weather, a good movie with good company equals a great night. Anyway.. I'm done with this post or else it'll be a novel!

Bracelets

I wanted to just chill and relax this weekend.. and heal up. heh It was nice to enjoy the nice weather today. I walked around from store to store today. I went out to dinner with Marysol and Neil. They're my weekend meal buddies, I guess. I'm a great 3rd wheel, I swear. =P We ate at Citris Grill. Another yummy restaurant in SLC. I had the petite size spinach & artichoke pizza (#6 pizza) and it was really yummy. It had shrimp in it too. Delicious and a reallly good deal for a dinner meal (only $5.50!) - it was the perfect size. They have really good margaritas there too. I just didn't have any tonight. I wasn't in the mood.

After dinner, my friends dropped me off at Barnes and Noble where my car was parked. I decided to just chill in there and read/look at some books & magazines. I brought my jewelry making stuff with me too. Heh - I tend to bring them wherever I go during the weekends it seems like. I went to
Michael's today and bought a bunch of beads and things. They had a sale/coupon for 25% off the total price, including sale items. Pretty good deal, so I had to take advantage of it ; ) hehe I got some really nice beads. So, in Barnes & Noble, I bought a chai latter and started making bracelets! =) I'm a lame-o, I know. But it's definitely a nice way to relax for me, so I'll keep doing it. =)

Here they are:
All are about 7-8 inches in length
Bracelet 1: Shell/Light Blue Glass Bead, Magnetic Clasp, Elastic
Bracelet 2: Turquoise/Golden Glass Bead, Lobster Clasp, Elastic
Bracelet 3: Copper/Light Purple(very pretty!), Magnetic Clasp, Elastic
Apologies for the dark picture

Magnetic clasps are so nice. They make putting on bracelets a breeze.

I made a couple of other bracelets earlier this week too. They are just the other colors of a previous bracelet I made. Here are they are:(I really like these beads)

Crafty Weekend

It's past midnight.. I'm semi-sleepy but awake enough to upload some pictures. So, I might as well post on my blog at the same time. heh

I just got home from watching Hancock with a couple of friends. It was a pretty entertaining superhero movie. I enjoyed it. Today was pretty nice. I went to Sugarhouse and pretty much hung out in the afternoon over ther
e. I went to some stores (Bed Bath & Beyond, Michaels, ate at Rubio's) - all in all a good time. I bought some more beads at Michael's. I'm really liking this whole jewelry making hobby. I'm really getting into it. I think I'm going to grow old and have a bunch of beads and knick knacks to make jewelry all over my house one day. Heh.
Anyw
ay, I wanted to buy some stuff to make those wine glass charm things. They're coils with charms and beads on them used to mark your wine glass at a party. I'm making them for my friend Mike. He helped me out big time this past Monday after my passing out and falling to the floor incident at work. =\ He even picked me up at the hospital. It was so nice of him to do that. Anyway, I'm making him those wine glass charm things as a Thank You =)

Here is a picture of the first two I made:
I went to the park and just relaxed there while making these wine glass charms. My brother said I probably looked like a gypsy. Hehe I also made a bracelet today. I've made a lot of bracelets lately.

Anyway, here are a couple of bracelets I have made:
This bracelet is mine, but I made one for my mom and sister too. I might make a couple more for others.
I made this bracelet today. I thought these beads were so pretty.
I got them in 2 other colors too =)

Here's my friend Neil and I acting like Ninjas?:Good times, good times
Oh yeah, tonight Neil, Marysol, and I went out to dinner before the movie. We went to Settebello and it was really tasty. I really really liked their pizza. It was my first time going there and I really loved it. I recommend it to anyone that is in SLC or will go to SLC at some point or another. I also had a chocolate gelato after the meal which was pretty yummy=)

My Parents' SLC Visit

My parents came here on Wednesday (July 2nd) and stayed until this morning. This was their first time to Utah - and they have never seen my place here. I wanted to make it a good vacation for them.

In list form, this is what we did: (I love to make lists)

1) Wednesday - I picked them at the airport and made them dinner at home. We ended up just hanging out at my apartment that night.
2) Thursday - I still went to work and for lunch, I picked them up and brought them to American Express' cafeteria. heh After work, we went to an outdoor mall downtown, The Gateway. Walked around the mall and had dinner at Z Tejas. We drove around town and I took them to a spot overlooking the entire valley. It was pretty gorgeous. My parents really liked it.3) Friday - 4th of July! I actually got to sleep in a bit (I really needed it!!). We went grocery shopping for some BBQ stuff. I was really excited to make some Filipino BBQ with my ma. I was definitely craving it. We got everything set up and started to marinade the meat. Then headed out to Snowbird Ski Resort. I took my parents up in the mountains. =) Definitely a gorgeous drive. Up at Snowbird, we rode the Tram which took us to an elevation point of 11,000 feet above sea level. There was still snow up there at this time. Craziness. My parents really liked that. Then after, we just headed home to grill the BBQ. Had dinner and just chilled at home for the rest of the holiday. No fireworks. Heh4) Saturday - this was the day I planned to be a nice relaxing and luxurious day for my parents. I scheduled a massage for the 3 of us at my favorite spa, Sego Lily, in the morning. It was my dad's first time getting a massage and he really enjoyed it. It was perfect to just relax in their meditation area before the massage and after. I really liked the tea flavors they had there. Yumm.
After our massage, we drove to some shopping areas. I bought som
e stuff I needed to make bracelets for my ma, my sister, and myself. I made us all the same bracelets =) Then we drove to the place where my ma got a haircut. Her haircut turned out really cute.
We went home to relax after her haircut. I made dinner reservations at my favorite restaurant here in Salt Lake, Cucina Toscana. My parents really liked it. I love that place. The food is always really good. After dinner, I took them to the City Library, because it's so beautiful. Took pictures, of course. Then I decided to drive them to Park City. This was their last night in Utah, I figured I'd get as much in as possible. We went to the Olympic Park and took pictures of the view there. I think my parents really enjoyed their whole vacation - which I'm really glad about =)5) Sunday, today. I took them to the airport in the morning and now my apartment is so quiet. =( Back to reality of the work week ahead of me. =P I'm so sleepy. It was a great time hanging out with my parents.
